CD
storage boxes are a must have for almost any home or
college student. Why? Because CD's take up a lot of space
and are very easy to damage. So let's talk about CD
storage boxes...
CD
storage boxes typically fall into one of two major types
of categories. They are short term and long term storage.
Obviously, if you need regular access to your optical
media, whether that's a CD, DVD, Blu-Ray, or whatever it
may be – short term CD storage boxes are the best option.
If you don't need to get to these discs regularly and you
are simply storing these discs, long term CD storage
boxes are the best option. Let's look at the two and how
they can be used as well as how they are
different.
Short Term CD Storage
Boxes
Short term CD storage boxes can be
something simple like a CD binder or it can be much more
complex such as removable bins. The primary goal of short
term CD storage boxes is to not only organize your
collection, but make the CD's as easy as possible to
quickly get to when you want them. Ease of access is a
consideration that is often overlooked when people go to
buy Cd storage boxes, and I can assure you that it is a
relatively large mistake. When it comes to short term CD
storage boxes, your ability to get to your movies and CD
effortlessly is of immeasurable
importance.
Way?
When because if you can't get to your movies when you are
looking for one, guess what's going to happen to all of
the movies that were in the way? You're going to take
them out, lay them on the ground, shelf or counter and
when you finally find the movie or CD your wanted – you
may be in a hurry and not put the other discs back in the
CD storage box.
After a few times of doing that, your
CD storage box is no longer helping you keep your optical
media safe and secure. Instead it's presenting more of a
problem than a solution in terms of keeping everything in
one place and safe from damage. It's becomes nothing more
than a real hassle, and that's the opposite reason of why
you were looking for CD storage boxes to begin
with.
Long
Term CD Storage Boxes
Long
term CD storage boxes are much easier to shop for and
use. In fact, it's so much more simple to shop and use
these that there really won't be too much to be said
about it.
The
first factor you need to consider is just how many discs
you need to store. Once you have a target range in mind,
you should think about if you want to keep the CD jewel
cases or not. If you don't want the CD jewel cases, than
it's much easier to really pack a bunch of your discs in
a very small amount of space and keep them safe. You will
probably want to look into getting some individual CD
“Pockets” just to keep their reading surface safe and
free of damage. If you want to keep your CD jewel cases,
than you can find CD storage boxes that may have little
slates built into them. Those will allow you to just
insert the CD's complete with the cases, for long term
safety and organization.
